Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus,
If I look inside my mind,
or my body,
can I find the mind of Christ?
Or, might I find it by looking
outside myself?
who, though he was in the form of God,
What does it mean to be
in the form of God?
did not regard equality with God
as something to be exploited,
What would it look like to exploit
equality with God?
Would that mean exploiting
other things too?
but emptied himself,
Have you ever felt
like you had emptied yourself?
taking the form of a slave,
being born in human likeness.
When was Jesus
in the form of a slave?
Is this the form of everyone
born in human likeness?
Or was it only when he was taken
by the authorities?
And being found in human form,
Being found in human form
is a common occurrence.
I have experienced it,
and so have you.
But not everyone responds to it
with humility,
or sacrifice.
What is your response
to being found in human form?
he humbled himself
and became obedient to the point of death –
even death on a cross.
Therefore God also highly exalted him
and gave him the name
that is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,
He was humble,
so God exalted him – but
we don’t usually do that.
Why would we bend the knee
to one who is humble?
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Why would those “under the earth” do that?
Does that mean hell?
If those in hell bend the knee,
do they have to stay in hell?
and every tongue should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
If every tongue confesses
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
does that mean we will emulate him?
Would we emulate his humility,
or his exaltation?
