On the Table– April 3 through 9

As we’ve continued in our Lenten journey with Walter Brueggemann, we’ve come to one of the pivotal events in the final days of Jesus: the cleansing of the temple (aka, when Jesus loses his cool and starts flipping tables!). And our group of service planners has been having an interesting conversation that we’d like to invite you into: We’d like to invite people to share what they feel they need to cleanse from their temple. Maybe in the context of “What have you conflated with your walk with God”? Politics? Religiosity? Theology? Business? Personal identity? Reactions to others?…. Or maybe you want to argue that your stuff in the temple is necessary and inextricable from your faith? Or at the very least a useful tool to get things accomplished.

Come to Jammin’ Java on Sunday morning at 10:15 where we’ll introduce the topic and give you some time & space to get your thoughts arranged before we have an informal time of sharing. We’re confident that many perspectives on this will multiply the truth we seek. Hope to see you there!
