Well, here I sit, keyboard mocking me. I’ve procrastinated in every possible way today, because I just don’t want to write this, the final On the Table. I cannot believe it (Emmaline, I think I’ve joined you in ‘Denial’).
Our final meeting will happen this Sunday at Good Shepherd UMC at 10:15 (or so…).
We’ll be gathering together to thank God for what we’ve been given, and to say goodbye to Common Table, and to look forward to what is next. We anticipate a small, quiet gathering of friends who have become family, but we don’t mean to keep anyone away, either. We’d be honored to have anyone reading this to join us.
We’ve always been about the celebration of ‘Second Communion,’ so we thought we would move that up to a more featured place in the lineup and have a meal together. Too, we’re of a strong mind that we should conclude with one of our vaunted ‘Radiolab’ formats to allow everyone a place for their voice.
Thanks, Common Tablers, both near and far. Thank you for everything you gave, and most especially yourself. It’s been an amazing ride; I’ll never be the same.
…and Thanks be to God.
Amen.

26 the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. – Numbers 6:24-26
